SC Essential Soft Skills Certificate
Today’s employers agree that soft skills are a key component in hiring and promotion decisions. On July 20, 2021, the State Workforce Development Board (SWDB), in partnership with WIN Learning, announced a standardized certificate entitled the SC Essential Soft Skills Certificate. The credential informs employers that individuals possess important skills such as time management, professionalism, motivation and attitude, as well as more complex skills such as digital literacy and problem-solving.
SC Works Pee Dee customers are encouraged to complete the free one-hour assessment and include the certificate with their resume when applying for jobs. It is an extra tool to help employers know more about you. Assessments can be scheduled by contacting the adult education programs in the region as well as Northeastern Technical College. Tutorial software is also available to prepare job seekers for the assessment.
The soft skills certificate is a separate component of the WIN Learning Ready to Work courseware which is also utilized in South Carolina to document that job seekers have the skills to be successful in their path to career readiness. Learn more about WIN at https://www.winlearning.com/scupdates.
